Building a More Inclusive and Supportive Community:
The YMCA Lincolnshire SEND activities club was a project designed to create a safe and inclusive environment for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
The project aimed to help these young people develop new skills, build confidence, and improve their social and emotional wellbeing using sport and fitness as a tool.
We are pleased to say that the program was a great success. Throughout the project, the young people engaged enthusiastically with the activities, developed new skills, and built positive relationships with their peers and the staff. The parents and carers of these young people also mentioned how nice it was to have their child engaging in external activities.
The success of the program can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of all involved. We would like to thank Chris for his great support and Carrie for being fantastic during the session we had with her. With a special thanks going to Leo for bringing us in. The program was only made possible through the hard work and commitment of the team involved.
The positive outcomes achieved by the project are evident from the progress made by the young people involved. The project helped to create a more inclusive and supportive community, and we believe that it has made a positive impact on the lives of the young people we worked with.
Overall, we are incredibly pleased with the outcome of the SEND activities club. We look forward to continuing to build on the success of this program in the future. We believe that our project has contributed to creating a more inclusive and supportive community and we thank everyone involved for their hard work and commitment.
