'OUTSIDE IN'

BeGreatFitness is proud to be a part of the 'Outside In' project, which aims to connect people who are experiencing mental ill health and provide them with a sense of belonging through therapeutic exercise groups. Set up by Cudox therapy and funded through the together fund by Active Humber, we are taking on the responsibility of handling the yoga side of the project.

At BeGreatFitness, we firmly believe in the power of yoga to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Research shows that regular practice of yoga can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions. It has also been shown to reduce stress and improve mood.

Through 'Outside In,' people experiencing mental ill health will be able to attend therapeutic exercise groups that will actively encourage them to participate. By doing so, they will form friendships and allies, and hold each other accountable by offering gentle persuasion to keep each other motivated. We believe that people will motivate each other to attend together, make plans, and gee each other up.

Connecting people who are experts by experience of mental ill health can produce powerful moments in group therapy, creating positive, sustainable relationships where people support each other, reducing their reliance on NHS services to address mental ill health and social isolation. As such, the demand on the public purse will be reduced.

The impact of physical activity on mental health is often overlooked. The prevalence of anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions worldwide is high, and countless people may benefit from the positive mental health effects of exercise. Regular physical activity has been shown to improve mood, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve overall mental well-being.

At BeGreatFitness, we are proud to be a part of this initiative, and we are committed to using yoga to help people experiencing mental ill health to find a sense of belonging and improve their overall well-being. We believe that through 'Outside In,' we can create a positive and supportive community that will empower individuals to take control of their mental health and live fulfilling lives.
